The AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund provides funding and a support system for women seeking judicial redress for sex discrimination. The LAF supports LAF PLAINTIFFS who are female college faculty, staff and students. It provides a national LAF NETWORK of volunteer attorneys, gender bias experts, and social scientists.

It uses its Progress Toward Equity Awards to recognize institutions that advance gender equity in higher education and impact a diverse community of women.

The LAF's Excellence In Equity Awards recognize the outstanding efforts by individual women to promote equity on the campus and/or in the community.
